Whistler Big Air 2011
This last weekend of the season, we were in Whistler for the Big Air Festival, the biggest ski outdoor festival in North America. And guess what, it’s free.
On the Saturday they were having a big air competition, which involves getting some of the best pro-riders in the World to come out a huge jump and do some tricks.
It was my first time seeing this in real life and I must admit I was pretty impressed by the so-called ‘air’ those guys took off that jump. A lot of them actually fell at landing but didn’t seem to really be that affected by the crash and got back on their feet straight away.
Some of the jumps were crazy, and when I found out that some of the participants were girls, it blew me away. There a nice recap of the session on here for those who might be interested in getting a better idea of what a ‘big air’ involves
