Frederiksborg Castle
Frederiksborg castle is a castle in Hillerød, Denmark. It was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV, and is now known as The Museum of National History.
This castle was built in different phases, if I can remember correctly, 4 different phases. It includes a big chapel where coronations of the monarchs are often held.
It is quite big inside but there are no guided visits. The guards (security officers) there are very keen on becoming improvised tour guides so it’s a good idea to ask them questions. The visit is pretty long with 3 floors to visit, finished off by a modern gallery in the attic.
This picture was taken at the entrance of the castle, with my girlfriend Signe, taking the usual pose. It was raining pretty badly that day hence the heavy clothing…
