Carcassonne
After yesterday’s wedding, an amazing party and a very short night of sleeping, my brother, his girlfriend and myself headed to the town of Carcassonne to visit the old Medieval City, as pictured in this shot.
Carcassonne is a very old medieval fortress, which, if I understood correctly, was overtaken by the Romans and fortified to allow them to have a strategic post between the Eastern and Western regions of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean.
It’s actually a pretty big fortress, now transformed into a touristy site, with restaurant, bars and gift shops. Highly recommend seeing it from the motorway, as the view of it from far away is very impressive!
