Grenoble

Story

I made it to Grenoble, where I will be staying with a couple of friends for a few days.

After a long journey from La Clusaz (considering it was less than 100km away and took 5 hours!), I got to this peculiar city which is surrounded by mountains. It’s at the foot of the Alps and it’s not considered as the most beautiful place in France, because of its lack of traditional architecture and buildings. It’s comprised of many high-rise flats, which don’t look so great.

As I arrived, my friends took me for a 5-hour trek up to the ski jump which was erected for Grenoble’s Olympic Games in 1968. It stands just at the North of Grenoble, on a mountain side, about 1000m higher than the City. The trek was actually quite intense, as we all thought it would just take a couple of hours to get there, when it actually took us most of the afternoon!

Worth it though, as the view over the city was spectacular, as seen on this shot!
