Mont Saint Michel
We came from Rouen to visit the Mont Saint Michel today, which is a 2-hour drive west in Normandie. It was quite a drive but well worth the effort as it is truly a beautiful sight to see.
There is a guided tour at the top of the Church on the MSM, which is highly recommended, as it explains how gradually the whole rock was transformed into what it is today.
It was raining a LOT that day and it wasn’t until we left that the sun started shining again, which is when we took this shot. The guest in the picture is Eric, a Québecois friend who has come to Europe with his girlfriend for a month. The car park we are standing on was going to flood a few hours later, as MSM is the area with the highest and roughest tides in France, with the water being famous for surprising swimmers as it comes up at very high speeds and it can be difficult to get back to shore.
