Indian Monsoon
2 days ago there was some very heavy monsoon rainfall. As a result, I’ve been out of Internet for 24 hours. I couldn’t capture the rain really, as it was just pouring down outside, and could barely walk out of the hotel, and when I did, it was night.
Therefore this shot was taken by my friend Phil about 2 weeks ago. When it rains here, it REALLY rains. There are torrents of water coming down from all the main roads, with massive puddles (or small lakes) of water forming at intersections. It’s mad! Everything almost comes to a halt, or at least slows down considerably.
My hotel manager tells me that as a result the Internet and mobile networks slow down, because transmission towers get flouded
Hopefully down South we won’t have too much rain, for our Bullet adventure. More to come soon, as we’re flying to Cochin tomorrow morning! For one week’s holiday, well deserved!
