Vasco Homestay, Fort Cochin
This week we’ve reached Kochi, a town in the province of Kerala, in the South of India.
We will be in the region for a week, and touring around (more on this later).
Today we’re in Fort Kochi, an island just off the coast of Kochi. We’re staying in what used to be the house of Vasco de Gama, the famous Portuguese explorer.
This is clearly the best room you can find in Fort Kochi, and also the best room I’ve stayed in so far in India, not only for its location, but also its size and the history that relates to it.
Since it’s a heavy monsoon and it’s been raining all day, we’re happy to have at least a nice pad to relax in!
The owner is called Santosh, and has agreed to help us hire a couple of Royal Enfield Bullets, which I’ll talk about in the next post!
