People sleeping in the streets

This is a recurrent theme here in India, and as much as I didn’t want to picture it, as often it feels out of order, I couldn’t resist using this shot my travel buddy Rob took of these people having a nap on the stairs of some temple here in Varanasi, with the dogs sleeping in the background.

It’s amazing how people can just lie down anywhere, on any surface, and sleep. I guess some of them don’t have a choice, but here it just looked like some mid-afternoon nap between prayers. And the dogs at the back made the whole scene look surreal!
