Santiago de Chile
Have safely arrived in Santiago de Chile, where my brother Charles has been living now for 6 months!
I must say first impressions are that it’s not at all what you expect the place to be here. It look pretty much like any Southern European city. Everything is very clean and tidy, there is a metro system, shops everywhere, etc.!
One great difference though is that it’s really warm! Today it was a bit cloudy but the temperatures reached 25°C here in town. And also, the sun sets at around 8:30pm, which is a bit of a change from 4:30pm in the UK…
The town is quite poluted though and therefore the air is very smoggy. I managed to capture a picture of the Andes at sunset though. They are so close to the city, you can pretty much see them from everywhere, it’s amazing!
