Chiang Mai Doi Suthep Temple

Story

We took the night train to Chiang Mai from Bangkok, which was a lovely 13ish hour journey, through the rural areas of Bangkok all the way through to the North of the Country. We met a couple of Canadians in the train, with whom with shared our beer and love for Dutch people (who were sitting behind us and being quite loud!).

Anyway, we got to Chiang Mai, which is the largest city in the North of Thailand, but already feels a lot more relaxed than Bangkok! After going around a couple of hostels, we dropped our bags off, rented a scooter and made our way to the nearest mountain where a temple lies, with beautiful views on the city.

It was really nice to get this temple, as it felt very calm and tranquil. Finally starting to feel the real Thailand, with nice places to relax at and beautiful countryside views.
