West Pier

Story

Today there were very low tides on the beach, and the sea retired quite far out, far enough to walk all the way to the bottom of the West Pier, well at least what is left of it!

On 28 March, 2003, the West Pier caught fire, and this is what is left of it. There are plans to build this panoramic tower in its place, but no one knows if this project will actually go forward, considering the resentment for most people to have such a structure on the beach.

Today the weather was peculiar in Brighton, it was very warm yet very hazy, almost as if we were experiencing a heavy smog. The sea was very calm and this made the whole scene very beautiful.
